As our past learning journey has pasted, in the past for this upcoming Wednesday our school (Tamaki Primary) will be holding a food tasting night. This goes on from 5pm to 7pm. The purpose of this night to show what we have been learning in our educational past. We have 4 main topics which are the 4 main things we had been learning about such as..
  • Honey
  • Fitness
  • Sugar
  • Te Whare Tapa Wha
We were given the choice of choosing a group. I went with the choice of grouping with the the group Sugar. From choosing our groups the next step in this learning journey was to work with your group in order to think of how we would be presenting our work the parents of caregivers that would be attending on the night. Besides from the cardboard given for us to make this we wanted to think outside of the box... We presented 7 key questions based around the theme Sugar... which you will find as I blog when I have the evidence of this project or task being successfully completed, or accomplished.

Some people didn't bother to participate and give in their own thoughts on this which got frustrating to me at times but after getting them to realise how important this night is they were able to take part and give in important idea's that could become real helpful.

After giving a part to each part of the Sugar team we divided the tasks evenly between one another. So with the title Kensington, and Ricky will be completing that, with the left hand side is Kira and Irys while Ana and myself are on the right hand side. But last of all in the centre of it all will be Biana, Jose, Ricky, and also Alone. I don't want to be giving away any more information so stay tuned to view the outcome of this amazing planned event!

If I were to identify a difficulty it would have to be getting some of my peers to participate. At times they thought it would be alright to let others complete the task and get their names slapped on at the end of the task but I couldn't accept it so I decided to be a leader and take matters into my own hands and that turned out perfect. People were able to take participation and contribution without staying out of the group.

My next steps with this learning journey is to make sure the people in this group is completing work to the best of their ability, and making sure they aren't slacking off! Also bringing this group to collaboratively work as one.

How do you think the Sugar group can improve more?
