IALT: reflect on how the Southern Steel Netball team has taken home the NZ title.
The Southern Steel have crushed the Central Pulse with a total score of 69-53 to win the national netball premiership grand final at Stadium Southland in Invercargill. The Steel team had been the dominant side all season and put on a masterful display in the final. But the Steel led 18-10 at the end of the first quarter and 35-20 at halftime, slowing only fractionally in the third stanza for a 55-38 lead with 15 minutes remaining. The Pulse battled to win the final quarter 15-14, but the Steel’s pace, patience and accuracy across 60 minutes left them comprehensive winners. Steel shooter Jhaniele Fowler-Reid was again in devastating form. The Jamaican international’s height, elevation and accuracy left her with impressive figures of 56 from 60 for the match. This was an amazing match, but if I had one wish it would have to be that I wished that the New Zealand netball team would take our title back home.
My thoughts on this article is that maybe this could be the chance f the Southern Steel Netball team to get into a great spot in fame, and in being known.
My next steps in learning are to become familiar with more in our country. Not just the things that interest me but things that interest my peers, family member, and also friends.
What are your thoughts on this match?
