๐Ÿ’ฎ Cook Island Hobbies ๐Ÿ’ฎ

IALT: find and research about Cook Island hobbies.

As you may know Cook Island language week is next week. To celebrate this we decided to do a bit of learning behind the scenes of this beautiful, graceful culture. As we were researching I found new things related to the culture. Fun fact, you should call the cook islands cook islands with a S, because there are 15 of them. Cool right, I didn't know that until I researched and learned more about it. I came across some interesting topics. I found a lot of hobbies from the cook islands culture, but to support the idea's I found with the text or content I read I decided to insert links to those websites. I kind of used the S.E.E structure a little. I explained and my example was within the images inserted and the links inserted.

This DLO of Cook Islands hobbies, was brought to you or created by myself and another learning peers/classmate of mine Ana. To hear more, and read more on Ana's blog about her learning click HERE to guide you to her blog.

In my perspective, what I found a struggle was reading. I wanted so much to get straight to the point of what I was looking for. But yet I had a read and get through a lot of content just incase I missed text. To find more answers and learn more information I then decied to try go back and re-read, by doing this I could try and read between the lines to develop more.

๐Ÿ’ Whare Tapa Wha Support Using Hobbies ๐Ÿ’

IALT: come up with hobbies that can surrport us with our well being.

Since our new inquiry topic for term 3 is Hobbies one of our tasks we had to find any hobby that would suit our Te Whare Tapa Wha such as a hobby that would help support our Spiritual, Social, Mental, and Physical Well-Being. This task was tough for me because I found it hard comparing hobbies to your well being. In each slide are hobbies I think will help surrport your well being. As you know everyone has a Spiritual well being, Physical well being, Social well being, and also a Mental well being. We all need to care for all 4 sections in order to keep our body fit, and in order to keep ourselves healthy.

The most challenging part of this task was coming up with an idea. Not ideas but an idea! It was hard for me because usually I would compare things such as Peanut Butter & Jelly, or Water & Milk, but never did I have to think I would be comparing Hobbies to your Te Whare Tapa Wha.

My next goal is to upload images on blog of me actually going through these activities! To help surrport what I am saying. I hope that in the future I can actually accomplish these hobbies to help keep my family members, and also myself well being on track.

What did I enjoy about this task? What I enjoyed was.. now I have a chance to use these hobbies to help surrport my own person well being.

Do you find these hobbies supportive to your well being?

Please leave a comment down below for me to view and use in the future.

Much Appreciated.

❔Useful OR Useless Hobbies? ❔

IALT: identify the main points in the article.

This was our reading task. To read an article.. answer a few questions, and to also put it into entertaining form for our viewers, or audience members to view.

What is your hobby? And will it ever get you somewhere in life? Hmm? I wonder what the different types of hobbies are that people have! For Term 3 our inquiry topic is hobbies! Heaps and heaps of hobbies. So after reading an article around the area's of different types of hobbies I was then given a task to explain what it means using questions given. (Why, Where, Who, and How?) So instead of just answering each question individually I decided to create a form of Google Drawings to answer all the questions in one. As you read this DLO you will find answers to all the questions given. For example you will find that I have answered what I think the main point(s) are from the article, and also how it relates to me?

The most difficult  part of this task I found that was struggle ws finding a way to put those one word questions (Why, How..) into an actual question with several words. For example instead of Why, it would be why do we need a useful hobby? Or instead of How? It would be how do we find a useful hobby?  The most enjoyable part of this task for me was putting this all into one and all into form.

Next time I hope to improve on relating it more to myself. Putting my thoughts into action and perspective (if possible).

Muchly Appreciated.

๐Ÿ‘Kiwi Can Reflection - Resilience & Emotions ๐Ÿ‘

IALT: show and understand in my own perspective the definition of Resilience.

Kiwi Can Says... Let's talk about Resilience. So, in today's lesson was about a mixture of 2 main topics. Resilience and Emotions. Our lesson plan was simple, firstly we had to share our own personal understanding, and knowledge about what Resilience means to ourself. In my opinion what I see Resilience as in my own words is that it means always doing things to the best of your ability, and never being that person who easily gives up. We shared a lot of great idea's that helped comfort me in particapating, and taking part more. By sharing our ideas with one another I was able to find myself to set a goal in relation to Resilience. The goal I had set was to try best in showing Resilience everywhere I go. By accomplishing this goal will help me to also leave better example in different places (consistency).

Now, onto Emotions. With emotions we started of by separating ourselves into 4 different groups. In these different groups we were secretly given a emotion. In your group you had to imagine you were in a band with no sound. At first I thought this was silly, but as we got more deeper into the activity I found it entertaining and fun at the same time. The first emotion my group was given was Depression. The kiwi can instructors would then play a instrumental song or a song, and as they played the group would play along. Going deeper into the topic of Emotions, we then started listing them. For example...
  • Depression
  • Excitement
  • Joy
  • Sad
  • Happy
And much more. Then before I knew it the lesson was over and it was time for class.

The one thing I learnt overall during this lesson was... to understand the definition of Resilience to my peers and also my friends.

I look forward to the future Kiwi Can lessons we have based on Resilience. I hope I can begin to learn and develop more as I shall become more involved with these discussions.

What does Resilience mean to you?
Do you value other people's feelings/emotions?

I'll get back to you at any available time!

๐Ÿ“My Goals For Term 3 ๐Ÿ“

IALT: plan out SMART goals for to use in term 3.

SMART

For writing we given the opportunity to think about what our Writing, Reading, Maths, Personal, and Teacher goal is this term. Before getting started we went through SMART goals. We went through what it stood for and how it could help us set our goals. So then for me to become more familiar in using SMART in the goals I set, I decided to go through each letter or each word and define what it means to me. Which you are able to view and read above this content.

GOALS

Anyways, here are my 5 term 3 goals....

As you can see in the DLO created above shows 5 different sections, and in each section is 5 different topics. They are..
  • Writing Goal
  • Reading Goal
  • Maths Goal
  • Personal Goal
  • Teacher Goal
The most difficult part of completing this task for me was thinking about my writing goal. But then after conferencing with my teacher she was able to give a much suitable goal. The goal she gave me for writing was to use more academic language based and related on the subject/topic.

Overall, I believe the one thing I found the most difficult was setting a time frame for my goals. I believe the reason for this being my biggest struggle was because I wasn't able to find a time where I could achieve my goal knowing that it was huge a difficulty for me!

The one goal I really hope to achieve is building more relationships/friendships within my peers, within the classroom, and also outdoors in the main playground. In my mindset the more friends I make the more knowledge that can be shared.

Do you have any goals for this term?

What are your thoughts on my goals for term 3? Are they SMART?

Please leave a comment down below. I look forward in viewing and reading about how I can improve on my learning more.
