🍬Sugar Research - Ana & Losana 🍬

IALT: research interesting facts based around Sugar.

As a part of completing the Sugar project for the Food Tasting night, myself and Ana had to complete in doing some research around Sugar. With the area of this project being allocated to Ana and myself it required finding a lot info about Sugar we already knew! So that's when we decided to let Google come in...

We found a lot of interesting facts or sugar in relation to how it started off in some countries.. the different types of sugars and much more information!

Here are our facts....
  • When sugar was first introduced to England they grouped sugar under spices such as.. Ginger, Cinnamon, & other spices.
  • In the 13th Century in Europe sugar was to cool, and expensive for those average livers, the price of Sugar went up to Royalty's price only.
  • America consumes 130 pounds minimum of sugar a year!
  • By subtracting sugar in a everyday average diet in America would be subtracting 500 calories daily.
  • Different Types Of Sugar - Glucose, Lactose, Fructose, Sucrose, Galactose, Maltose!
We want to find factual information that will engage more readers, and direct them into the Sugar area. We also don't want to over do it or that will draw people's attention away so we would like to keep it simple but engaging at the same time.

My next steps in learning is to.. put these facts in place by directing them where to be placed on the right hand side of this project. I would also like to get around in taking original photo's to match this content, or to just use images online.

A challenge I found was putting these facts into my own words. While reading factual information I found it hard to define the words, but after using Social Network, I was able to put the original definition of that word in my own words.

What are your thoughts on this?

Please leave a comment down below, and I look forward in viewing and using your comments in my future ongoing blog posts.

Many Thanks....

🍬 The Sugar Group - Food Tasting Night 🍬

IALT: build and discover new information with what the Sugar group and I got to work on.

As our past learning journey has pasted, in the past for this upcoming Wednesday our school (Tamaki Primary) will be holding a food tasting night. This goes on from 5pm to 7pm. The purpose of this night to show what we have been learning in our educational past. We have 4 main topics which are the 4 main things we had been learning about such as..
  • Honey
  • Fitness
  • Sugar
  • Te Whare Tapa Wha
We were given the choice of choosing a group. I went with the choice of grouping with the the group Sugar. From choosing our groups the next step in this learning journey was to work with your group in order to think of how we would be presenting our work the parents of caregivers that would be attending on the night. Besides from the cardboard given for us to make this we wanted to think outside of the box... We presented 7 key questions based around the theme Sugar... which you will find as I blog when I have the evidence of this project or task being successfully completed, or accomplished.

Some people didn't bother to participate and give in their own thoughts on this which got frustrating to me at times but after getting them to realise how important this night is they were able to take part and give in important idea's that could become real helpful.

After giving a part to each part of the Sugar team we divided the tasks evenly between one another. So with the title Kensington, and Ricky will be completing that, with the left hand side is Kira and Irys while Ana and myself are on the right hand side. But last of all in the centre of it all will be Biana, Jose, Ricky, and also Alone. I don't want to be giving away any more information so stay tuned to view the outcome of this amazing planned event!

If I were to identify a difficulty it would have to be getting some of my peers to participate. At times they thought it would be alright to let others complete the task and get their names slapped on at the end of the task but I couldn't accept it so I decided to be a leader and take matters into my own hands and that turned out perfect. People were able to take participation and contribution without staying out of the group.

My next steps with this learning journey is to make sure the people in this group is completing work to the best of their ability, and making sure they aren't slacking off! Also bringing this group to collaboratively work as one.

How do you think the Sugar group can improve more?

IALT: reflect on how we were given the talk about the Winter Learning Journey in relation of Blogging.

So this morning Rachel came in. I recognised her from previous visits! And as much I recognized from past visits she came to talk about the same thing which was the Winter Learning Journey which is in relation to blogging. For 4 years now Rachel has been running Summer holiday, and WInter holiday programs! But there's a twist during the holidays on the very start of the first of the holidays you will have to locate the website of this Summer/Winter learning journey, register for free, and begin in blogging about the activities provided on the website. The year the theme is Aotearoa New Zealand! There are activities and things such as history, music and much much more about the amazing country we are currently living in! But to get participants the top 3 bloggers will be rewarded with a prize of New Zealand theme prizes. She talked about how in the previous years with the previous winners they were given things such as Tablets, Phones, Clothing, Books, and many more amazing useful prizes that could be handy towards our futures.

The choice of entering is your full decision, and I am still in the process of considering my participation in this amazing opportunity! But for now I am likely to compete, and blog for others to view the educational things I am doing in my school holidays. This will be a great learning opportunity for all peers! I look forward to seeing those Tamaki Primary participants.

I look forward int he challenges I will find in this activity, and I also look forward in finding and viewing what other participants can do with their use of time in relation to blogging. This will help me build a lot of positive relationships and friendships online, and also find a lot more strategies in learning and blogging more digitally.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think I have the ability in completing and winning any prizes? & How do you think I can win?

Please leave a comment down below, and I will look forward in responding!

πŸ“Quad Blogging - Aaliyah @ Saint Puis X πŸ“

IALT: supportively leave comment with positive feed forward, and feedback on my Quad Blogging buddies blog!

Image result for blog commenting

Today I deiced to leave a comment on one of my Quad Blogging Buddies blogs.. Aaliyah from Saint Puis X. The blog post  read about was a DLO she had created of her Garden Idea(s) for her school. She talked about the things she thinks her school garden needs. The 2 main idea's or slides I found in her DLO of a Google Drive Application - Google Presentation were..
  • Why do Danvers Carrots need?
  • What does Leaf Lettuce need?
I find her presentation engaging in various ways but I did find things she could improve on next time which you will find as you view and read my comment!

Here is a screenshot of the DLO she created using Google Presentation!

And also here is a screenshot of the comment I made on her blog...

As I was blog commenting I found a difficulty which was trying to spot her challenges in completing this task for me to leave feedback. But gratefully I was able to find things she could improve on next time!

The one thing I found very enjoyable and fun was having the ability to understand her view. I felt as if the feedback I was giving her was easy but one step at a time!

What are your thoughts on how I could improve more when it comes to blog commenting?
