IALT: reflect on what happened during our Kiwi Can Lesson

Today we had Kiwi Can. For me today's lesson was quite interesting we found out Miss Latoya has left to teach high school (In Kiwi Can).. So replacing her we have a new Kiwi Can Leader. Her name is Lily, and her Nationality is Samoan. We were given an introduction towards her, and we got straight into it.

We were put in 4 different groups, Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, & Group 4. For our first activity we had to form 2 circles, one circle filled with all the boys and one circle filled with all the girls. There was one Hula Hoop, in the circle somewhere and we had to walk in a circle for as long as the music played, everytime we would walk past the Hula Hoop we had pt one leg in it then move. Once the music had stopped the last person from each circle with their leg last in the circle, had to give the other person from the other circle a Compliment. Basically complementing one another. We went for at least 4-5 round, and the compliments that I had heard were like..

• I Like Your Shoes
• I like Your Hair
• I like How You're Always There For Me 

I think we could improve on this activity by not only complementing them by their appearance but by their personality and what is in the inside. The name of this activity was "Complement Circle".

We had to talk about how asking questions is important, and how it can help us... In our own groups. We all shared our idea's and some idea's I had heard were..

• It can give you more knowledge

And much more idea's... Then it was time for the next activity.

The next activity was for us to move into 4 different groups, The first 2 groups were versing each other using a Political Debate. I was in Group 3 which meant I was going up against Group 4. Group 1 & 2s Debates were about Whether we should have uniform, or Whether we shouldn't have uniform. The group that won, with their idea's and there strength in confidence was group 2, which was the group that debated about how we should have uniform. Then it was Group 3 & 4s turn. With minutes and minutes of debating, with ideas firing at each other, which was about Whether we should have 2 hour breaks, or 40 minute breaks, and my team was 2 hour breaks, the decision was made and yet to be announced. Then YAHHH We won, and we were so happy, at the end of the day that was all we had time for.. but NO HARD FEELINGS, all was good and all was fair.

    

My Goal for next week is to try my hardest into participating and contributing as much as I possibly can. The most challenging part of today's Kiwi Can Lesson, was debating with team 4 but luckily in the end, everyone in my team had hope and faith and we won.
