WALT: reflect on the Tamaki Primary Anzac Memorial Service
On Anzac Day it was during the holidays which was April 25th! So we missed it but that doesn't mean we still can't pay our respects and show our honours therefore....
On Thursday (Yesterday) Tamaki Primary School, had a Anzac Memorial Service in order to pay our respects and show our honour to those who fought for the freedom of our nation! From each class would a presenter or presenters.. and those people presenting would either read a poem, being up a reef or perform an item to still show their respects! From our classroom (Room 9) we had 3 people presenting a poem which were..
- Akanesi
- Aumau
- Leilani
And Sene which was the reef carrier or taker. At the beginning of the service we sang our national anthem (New Zealand) along with the Australian National anthem with sitting and listening to the sound or instrument of the trumpet! There were a lot to different performances and even the junior children from the younger classes surprisingly surprised me with the tone, and words they used and pronounced during presenting their item! At the end of the service each class would go up and have their moment of silence! It went from Room 1 to Room 10. As I stood their in silence I looked down and saw all those names with many more to be listed! I then wondered if i wasn't for these people who fought us freedom wouldn't be with us or one with us! Therefore I was very grate for every fought they fought and every bullet then had taken. Milan and Michael were the hosts of the Anzac Memorial Service and they had done a excellent job knowing they were from Room 6.
