Today because camp is coming up very slowly, we decided to do an camp activity with both classes 9 & 10. The camp activity had been based on the 2 key competences that were picked, for us as a group and a team to achieve while we are at Camp Rangeland. The 2 key competences which were picked for us to focus on was.. "Participating and Contributing"! This means that you can join in the activity the group or class is doing. Also the last key competence that was chosen for us to achieve was "Relating to Others" from my perspective this means getting to know everyone and building stronger relationships. From this we each had to mix ourselves up and get into groups of 5 people, with people we barely work with. From then we had to brainstorm what Participating and Contributing, and what Relating to Others look like. Then we would pick 2 people to present the idea's we came up with as a group, and share everything we had written to our classroom. In my eyes it was basically the process of Learn, Create and Share. The last activity we did was we had to get into the teams we were put in for the camp workout. This means the groups that were shown and casted on the screen was the team that was picked for us to work with mostly for the camp! We then had to come up with a name, that fit's our group.. and a name everyone agrees with and also justify why we picked that name. We had to the same with our cabin people, but the difference were that the cabin people, were the people we would just spend the night with. In each cabin you have to have at least 10 or less people in one cabin! Of course 4 cabins are for boys only, and same rule applies for the girls. We also had the opportunity to ask any questions necessary, that needed answering. Then once that was complete we then talked as a group what we needed, and we also talked about what we think the activities at camp would be. The camp were going to is Camp Rangeland.. this camp is 2 hours away from Auckland, and it is a place where we can work as a team, to build stronger relationships with our fellow peers.
