😂My CAMP GOALS😃

Have you ever experienced being at camp, at Camp Raglan?
Well be amazed.. because the year 7 & 8 students from Tamaki Primary.. Has been given the amazing opportunity.. to go to Camp Raglan, the reason behind is to bond more, and create new, stronger relationships with one another.. and also to create an unbreakable friendship, with our peers. Keep reading below.. to see what you will find in the making of this presentation.

Today, we were given a presentation to complete. This presentation is based on What I would like to achieve at camp, and also there will be images provided o f the activity that we were given to complete earlier in the day. Earlier in the day, we were given the task of getting into the teams we will be working with through out the time of being at Camp Raglan. The activity was also mainly about the 2016 Camp Vision. The 2016 Camp Vision is TEAM, which stands for.. Together, Everyone, Achieves, More! The sentence, was separated, and so on each paper their was one word, from the 2016 Camp Vision. Each group was given a piece of paper, and we also had to brainstorm what the word meant, to yourself and also your group. Also there will be a slide show casing.. a reflection which is a reflection.. basically about something we look forward to doing.. before the camo day had come. The photo's of the brainstorming in our groups will also be shown during this presentation. It seemed, like a few weeks ago we were talking about.. how far away camp was.. and yet it feels as if it is just a day away.

I look forward, to the experience that will be held at Camp Raglan. I hope this Camp, does help for us to work as one.. and to also bond together..!! This experience.. should give us the strength of bonding with one another.. and being confident around each other! Lastly, this camp should give us the ablilty to give things a go, and to create better friendships with each other.

🤔Speeches Reflection🤔

My Speech Reflection

Yesterday, Room 10 had the opportunity of presenting their speech to the whole class. We weren't able to go through all of the students speeches, due to time problems. Everyone was nervous, excited and happy all mixed emotions! As the people got up, and the others sat down as I smiled to everyone NOT TO PICK ME, but then eventually Miss Aireen picked me. I stood their and performed my 3 minute speech based on Peer Pressure. The 3 main topics that my speech was based on, was.. "How to avoid Peer Pressure", Ways Peer Pressure may begin", and lastly how to stand up to peer pressure all from my point of view. As I looked around to begin my speech, the class was dead silent.. I was nervous, excited and pumped all at the same time! All these emotions in my body just made me go for it! Then it was over before I even knew it, everyone clapped and Miss Aireen, gave me some great feedback, and also a great talk to class based on my speech! There was one particular, speech that caught my attention, which was Petra's speech.. Her speech was based on "Stereotypes", she talked about how people can just assume, something based on a persons.. colour, or gender. For example, how someone might just see a white person, and assume "Shes white so she's rich", or see a black lady, or a white male.. and assume straight away the mother, probably stays at homes and watches the kids, well the father is out all day. There was also a video that was shown, and presented after her speech! The video was based on the "Doll Test". The video was based on 2 dolls, One black and One white.. and also how they would involved, a young child, and ask questions like for example.. "Which one is the pretty doll?", and see what their answer would be. Majority the children's.. choice was that the Mean, and Pretty doll was the doll that was white, and the ugly, and kind doll, is the black doll. That speech, and video caught my attention because it mainly talked about, how people, and even children.. judge people by their appearance, or colour, gender or even by the people they are with. If you would like to watch, the video that was shown during her speech, click the link below.

My Peer Pressure Speech:

Kia Ora, Malo E Lelei, Talofa Lava and Greetings to you all. “Have you ever felt the feeling of when, you're being forced to do something, which you don’t want do?” Well today my speech will be talking about my perspective, based on “Standing Up To Peer Pressure”! My speech will be mainly about these 3 things… Ways Peer Pressure may begin.. How you COULD avoid Peer Pressure, and lastly.. How to stand up to Peer Pressure all from my point of view!
“Ways to begin Peer Pressure?”
Peer Pressure can begin in many different ways.. For example it could just start with being something a friend, of a group of friends want you to do.. But then they begin to lecture you to, make a decision, you disagree with… and they begin to force you, and before you know you feel the horrible feeling of “Peer Pressure” kicking in! If you don’t try to sort out the feeling of Peer Pressure as soon as possible, it could go from Peer Pressure, to bullying faster than a blink of an eye. It sucks if you're being forced to do something, that you wouldn’t want to, it could go from people just talking and lecturing you, to them hurting you, into doing it and that is when, adults have to come in and solve the  problem for you!

“How You Could Avoid Peer Pressure?”
There are many different ways to avoid, “Peer Pressure”.. Firstly you could just ignore what is being forced for you to do, or you could tell an adult, to help you go through “Peer Pressure”. Another thing to do maybe also find some new friends, because if you’re feeling as if people are forcing you towards a negative event, my feedback ! Lastly, don’t be afraid of the decisions other people force you to make, because everybody’s unique in their own way, and everyone deserves, to do what they want and make their own decisions, because we are all our own person! If you feel like, ignoring them isn’t working then you need to find a elder person, and talk to the about this..

“How To Stand Up To Peer Pressure”
The best way to standing up to “Peer Pressure” maybe sharing the thoughts running that, is going through your head, and also sharing the feeling!! For example if you’re being forced to do something in my perspective, the best thing to do is come straight with the people, who are forcing you! You could always tell them that, it isn’t a comfortable feeling, being forced towards doing something, that others agree with, but yourself doesn’t.  Lastly, Though at times it may be frustrating to make a decision you don’t like but others do.. Make sure the decisions you're making is something you want to do.. And if it isn’t then the most simple thing to do, is just come clean and say “NO”! Say no to the feeling being given, say No to the bad choices coming your way, and lastly say NO to everyone who continues to force you into doing things you wouldn’t want to do!

From my point of view (perspective) if a child is feeling as if they have “Peer Pressure”, the sooner you know about it and get things sorted, the better your child will be, and not only that but then they will be free of worry and live like normal kids! Imagine if your child was having a crowd that surrounds, themselves like this… forcing them to something though they disagree with… Would you want to get it sorted??

Quote:
When you say YES to others, make sure your not saying NO to yourself!

😇Kia Manawanui Syndicate Athletics Day😇

So Yesterday, didn't really go according to plan. Athletics day was cancelled, and everyone was d
devastated! So because of that Miss Aireen, and all the other senior syndicate teachers, discussed if it were still sunny in the last block... we would have a Senior Syndicate Athletics Block. Then after lunch it was sunny!! WOOHOO! All the classes meet out on the rugby field, waiting for their year levels to be called out to race. Year 4, 5, 6, 7, and lastly 8. All in gender though.. so for example they would call up, Year 1 girls.. and so on with the year leveled girls, then once you've reached the end which would be the year 8 girl.. then after all those races.. they would do the exact same with the boys! Everyone was running and pumped with energy! Once all the races had finished, they changed up the rules! So, because their were only 10 lines.. you got to choose any 10 people you want to race, and this time it didn't really matter about year.. or age! Anyone could race who ever they like. I unfortunately didn't race, because I was called to the Music Room, to record the songs with the other Music/Band Members, well the vocalist of the band. Which were, Raena, Petra, and also Willie! Plenty of people raced, and though some of them came last, or they didn't get the place they had aimed, or wished to get still there was a smile of their face. Mainly because to them it wasn't about winning, it was about having fun and learning new things, and also making new connections!
WOULD YOU WANT TO COME TO THE SENIOR SYNDICATE'S ATHLETICS DAY?
Please leave a comment below based on your thoughts of this question!

😳Cancelled Athletics Day😞

WALT: reflect on our "complicated" day!
😱  😰 My Complicated Day😱  😰
Today was meant to be the 2016 TPS Athletics Day, but due to weather issues it was sadly cancelled. The reason behind that it was cancelled was because, this was term 4 is term 4 is the busiest term out of all 4 of them, and also because their would be no time to fit n Athletics Day another time in term. Mostly because the 7 & 8 students camp is an very close upcoming event (Which is Next Week Tuesday), and also starting from next week Monday-Friday, all the student in room 1-6 will be on EOTC week. EOTC stand for Education Outside Of Class. The year 1-6 students who will be attending EOTC will be going to many fun places.. for example.. AMF Bowling, Lazer Strike, and many more amazing activities. The reason behind the 7 & 8 students moving forward to camp is to, help each other create a stronger bond with each other, one another and our peers. The camp will be at the destination of Camp Raglan, which is about 2 hours south out of Auckland. The camp will last for 3 nights, and 4 days! Basically this is based on, helping each other work as a team, and to also cooperate with one another. You could learn more about the people you barely know about.. and make new connections and friends.Image result for tamaki primary school athletics day
