πŸ—¨️ Saint Pius X Blog Commenting - Winter Learning Journey πŸ—¨️

IAL: how to leave positive comments on other's blogs.

Yet again, another blog has been found, another blog post has been read, and a comment has been published. Saveu is a year 8 female who is currently attending Saint Pius X. She is another participant of the WInter Learning Journey. As I was looking over her blog I was able to find from the corner of my eye that last year (2016) for the Winter Learning Journey she overall placed 2nd place in her school. Another achievement I was able to identify was that she placed 3rd place in the summer learning award last year also. In reading about her blog post in the end, my goal was to leave some feedback and feedforward, so a little bit of both!

Saveu's blog post was all about her adoption animal, overall she choose to get a Morepork Owl. I was able to be informed about how the Morepork Owl, is one of New Zealand's native Owls, which was a fact I just learnt.

Keep reading as you will find my comment below this content. My comment is all about the screenshot ABOVE this content. The screenshot provided (above), is a screenshot of the work Saveu had completed.

For you to leave comments of feedback, and feedforward on Saveu's blog click HERE.

My challenge was thinking deeply into her work. To me it was plane, and in boring form no offence. I wasn't able to spot a learning intention, a engaging DLO, or a DLO but I hope to see Saveu try to work towards this as a goal.

How do you think Saveu can improve on her learning more? Or How do you think I can improve more in the blog commenting area of my learning?

Please leave a comment down below for me to use in the future.

Muchly Appreciated,

πŸ’¬ Positive Feedback - Winter Learning Journey πŸ’¬

IALT: post helpful, supportive, and relational comments on my peers blogs who are currently particapating in the Winter Learning Journey.

In designing a flag you have to deeply describe it, think about what represents what, and also complete it to the best of your ability! In saying this I have come across a phenomenal blog post that deserved to commented on. As a individual that has completed tasks, my next challenge with a new page of the same chapter is to leave helpful comments for my peers completing the Winter Learning Journey. Akanesi, is a year 7 female, who attends Tamaki Primary. Personally, myself and Akanesi have been good friends for quite a while and peers... as we are in the same classroom.

To help out Akanesi in her Learning Journey.. Check out her blog below,

In her blog post I found it not only talked about the flag but also her challenges. I seem to always write about my challenges. I explain my challenges to see how my audience can help, or to see what me and my audience have in common.

Akanesi's very own Aotearoa New Zealand flag design.

From laying my eyes on this creation, I was completely engaged. I could tell this design was going to be good. And you never know, maybe this could be the next flag to design, or represent Aotearoa New Zealand?!

The main purpose in me publishing this comment was to give, feedforward and feedback. In my view I think I was able to successfully accomplish that step of this journey. I look forward in seeing Akanesi's future blog posts.

My next steps in blog commenting, is to be able to understand the text in reading a short amount of sentences. With being a good blogger, comes with having a creative mind in finding new ways to draw attention to your blog post, or to more viewers.

How about you take a go in designing your own flag, representing Aotearoa. An example is Akanesi's flag, posted above. To check out her original blog post in posting about her flag CLICK HERE!

Hope to see your comments down below, Thank you for viewing!

πŸ“Winter Learning Journey - Accomplished πŸ“

IALT: reflect on how I have completed the Winter Learning Journey!

Woohooo!! Yet again I have accomplished another goal of mine. Before beginning the first task given I set myself a goal. My goal was to complete all the tasks to the best of ability and understanding, along with completing the tasks in the time frame given. The Winter Learning Journey Program was only introduced to me a few days ago (When school was still on), and started on Saturday 8th of July, which was officially the beginning of the school holidays (For 2 weeks). With me being so eager to get into this program, I found even with a busy couple of days I was able to put my spear time into use. By saying I mean I was able to complete every task on the list in only 2-3 days. Now, some readers may be thinking.. "Are they even quality blog posts", or "I'm sure this was rushed work", well judge all you want, but at least read my work, look for the mistakes and by finding mistakes and leaving feedback it will help me in achieving, and reaching more in my blogging goals.

Honestly, at times there were tasks where I struggled, and when I was stress free.. but with the support of my family members, and friends I was able to push out all the negativity and focus on all the positives. With my struggles, difficulties, or challenges I think the one thing that really helped me get through all those things were reflecting on how I've come, or how far I have yet to come when it came to times I just wanted to give. In this task it wasn't all positive thoughts than were running through my head, at times I thought I just wasn't worthy enough in completing tasks so I wanted to give up, but with looking back at all the my past achievements, and my future goals I was able to find another way in coping with my doubts, and negativity.

In achieving a goal, I have set another one. Though there are so many days in the holidays left I want to learn more, share more, and also blog more. So my next goal is to find new tasks in relation to the Winter Learning Journey, not only to share my knowledge, and to help inform others about interesting things, but to also earn points under my name as a contestant. And with doing this I hope to find that I complete as much as I can, and by doing that I may even find myself in completing my goal in reaching 1st place for my school. Ohh Yeah, with what I mean is for each school, (Holiday Bloggers) there are 3 top bloggers who are awarded with prizes. First place, Second place, and Third place.. my main goal is to reach First place but who knows?

What has this Winter Learning Journey helped me realise?

With this education journey I've been able to realise that, if I put my mind into doing something that seems impossible, in reality it may not seem as impossible. An example of this is where I put my mind into completing a lot of activities in a small amount of time as I have mentioned above this content.

After hearing about my reflection would you like to join the Winter Learning Journey? Why? OR Why not?

🌟 The Matariki Rising - Winter Learning Journey 🌟

IALT: give 3 choices of celebrations around Matariki, (Reminders, & Great Celebration Remembrance).

As I was scrolling through the Winter Learning Journey document, I wanted to make sure I was completing all the tasks I should have been. Knowing me, I could have accidently scrolled to fast by one, missing it, and not completing the task. Luckily as I was scrolling through I had my blog opened on another tab. In the middle of the tasks I should completed was a task I didn't find familiar in completing. I was able to find that the task I didn't complete was in relation to Matariki, so I opened up a new tab finding my way in completing this task.

Under my learning intention, you will find that I have provided for my audience to view, read through, and think of feedback and feedforward for me to use. In the blue text box is all my choices listed from 1, to 3. In the light Golden text box is all about how or what lighting up fireworks bring to you. And so on.. on the other 2 different coloured text boxes are just things what this celebration does for you itself.

My biggest challenge while completing this task was picking my 3 different celebrations. There were so many to pick from, but to make it easier I decided to think as if this was a task similar to the All Blacks Haka. I imagined that I had to pick 3, just not rate. I went with my gut in the end and found I made the right choice.

QUESTION:

If you were to choose 3 different Matariki celebrations that bring great celebration, and remembrance on what Matariki is, What would they be?

My next steps in learning around the topic of Matariki is to.. find out what my family's thoughts are on Matariki. Though we maybe a pacific islander family, I still think with living in Aotearoa New Zealand, having Te Reo Maori as one of the main cultures, we should embrace it! As we are living around it.
