Filming - Leadership Movie

As you may know in a few weeks the Manaiakalani Film Festival is coming up. This is their 10th anniversary which is really huge, and special. As a member of the leadership team I would like to do something different, special, and thank them in a way no other school can. At first we planned out our scenes, and wrote our lines.. But then as we were conferencing with Miss Aireen, the idea of making a music video. Planning out a song (with appropriate lyrics), and drafting our music video. We used the instrumental of a song featuring JAHBOY, Justin Wellington. The name of this song was.. 'Island Moon'. In listening to this song it really caught my attention, because of the beats and the speed and tempo of the song. This to me was a very productive song... but in order to be able to use this song we needed to all agree on this song as a team. We went through each other and we found that we all agreed. Myself, Ana, Akanesi, Rosemary, and part of Paris drafted the new lyrics. But in the end when we were finished we found that there was no instrumental to this song. So instead of wasting our time on picking and drafting a new song we decided to approach our music teacher. He is currently in the making of the instrumental to this song. But our job is to learn our version of the song.. and perfect our notes, and lines to our best ability.

Until we have the finished recording, and song the rest of this information around this leadership move/music video is CONFIDENTIAL. So keep up with my blog to be able to hear the finished product, watch our music video.. and also the lyrics or our version to this song.

What are your thoughts?

If you were in my position what would your challenges.. or difficulties be?

πŸ“ Manaiakalani Ambassadors Day Presentation πŸ“

IALT: reflect on finally having the ability to present my presentation to the crowd of the Manaiakalani Visitors!

So this morning... 8.30AM hit and it was time for me to leave to Sommerville Special School in order for me to present my work. As I was in the vehicle , nearly reaching my destination.. All Miss Aireen, and myself could think about was good tips for me to work on today. For example speaking loudly, clearly, and slowly. It felt to me that I practiced my presentation a million times.. but yet when I was the first person to present the only thing that was in my stomach was the nerves and butterflies. Though it was fun presenting all over again...!

Something I liked while presenting and watching others present was that I was able to develop more knowledge about not only their school topics so far but also how much of their school topic/focus they know about it?! One presentation that I really liked was about G.I. It talked about how you should really prioritize your community, and I found that really engaging throughout myself presenting. I also learnt a lot from some of the presenters that had presented themselves for example...
  • Use hand gestures
  • Speak Loudly/Clearly/Slowly
  • Ask questions that will hook in your audience
And many more helpful tips I can use in presenting myself, or my work in the future. We even came across year 9 presenters from disabled school from Sommerville, or Edgewater College's Special School... and also a year 9 current student which was from Tamaki College.. located in Glen Inness.

Once all presenters were through with presenting their presentation it was up to the audience to give some feedback and feedforward. I found this very helpful even though I wasn't able to catch the name of some audience members giving this helpful, and supportive feedback, and feedforward.

For myself, next time I would like to work on speaking much slower therefore maybe the audience will understand the message I am trying to send out!

Any advice? Or feedback? From my blog viewers?

Please leave a comment below!
Many Thanks!

πŸ“Manaiakalani Ambassador's Day Presentation Peparation πŸ“

IALT: reflect on preparing myself for the TPS Manaiakalani Ambassador's Day.

Image result for tamaki primary schoolSo... This week Wednesday all Manaiakalani Cluster Schools, will have choosen an ambassador already! I am Tamaki Primary School's ambassador, and I have been preparing myself for the last few days on practicing my presentation, and editing my text from present, to past tense language! The last time I had presented my presentation was way back in Term 1. Presenting this presentation for me takes some guts... but after practising and practising I've been able to achieve some goals I've set based on this presentation presenting.. in the past, present, and hopefully the future. The last visitors day was cancelled, due to unknown reasons (Well, at least for me)... but I am really looking forward to sharing my past knowledge.

A goal I have set for me for myself presenting for this week, is to present myself with confidence, and overcome any fear I have of shyness! I think after getting use to speaking with confidence, in front of all sorts of different sized crowds or audience, I will not only develop new skills in presenting, but I will also become more comfortable in presenting my opinion, my thoughts, and also my work in front of real life, face to face, audiences.

Another personal goal I have related to visitors day, is to meet and talk to new people about the particular topic. The reason for this is not only to hear their thoughts, but to extend mine, by connecting it to their thoughts, not only having the ability to speak confidently to unfamiliar people, but to also come up with new idea's. (Extended Abstract)

Here is the presentation I will be presenting this upcoming Wednesday!

What are your thoughts on this presentation I have created!

Please leave a comment below, with your personal.. educational feedback, feedforward, advice, and suggestions for me to get back to below! But any ways...

Thanks for viewing, and enjoy the rest of your day/night! πŸ˜ƒ
