Hip Hop - Reflection

IALT: create a create a dance to a song with my peers!

So today in hip-hop, we went through our dance groups. There were 3 people or less in a group. I was put with Akanesi and LJ. Our main goal, or focus was to come up with a dance including dance moves we have LEARNT in hip-hop or dance moves that haven't been brought into our session. We were given a few minutes to create our dance. In the time given I believe I wasn't able to control myself in spending that time wisely. I was so distracted in mucking around and having a 'laugh' with my peers I forgot about the task, and forgot about staying on track and doing the right thing. 

Next thing we knew, it was our turn as a group to perform in front of our peers. When we got up we only 1-2 dance moves to perform which was shaming, and made me reflect on the choices I made during that time. 

My goal for next time, is to stay on track and focus on my group and the task being given. Without a doubt I know for a fact that I let my group down, in our task, and also in being a friend and a leader to them. I hope that next time I am able to make a better decision next time, which would be to follow and listen clearly to the instructions given, and successfully complete the task given.

I really enjoyed today's hip hop lesson but now that I have set a goal for me to try achieve next time I hope to be able to have a growth mindset and also the support of my peers and friends behind me.

Maths - Reflection

IALT: practice my basic facts knowledge to solve number problems.

Maths? Hmm, today with maths I went into our Maths Group Basket and looked out for games that would help me to achieve the learning intention we were given for our group (Number Ninjas). I was with some of my group members, and I was also with some of peers from other groups (Islander maths). They were given a similar learning intention so for us to help each other achieve and have a clear understanding we played a game in relation to both our learning intention. We were looking out for a game that would help us keep our math knowledge up, and keep us consistently thinking. we deiced to grab a pack of cards, and do all sorts of things with different numbers which were to either, multiply them, divide them, or add them up!

There were 3 boys and 3 girls playing this game.. But it seemed a bit plain and boring! So to bring in a bit of fun, and entertainment we decided to put genders against each other. Which was basically to go boys VS girls. It was George, Siale, and Gary against, Myself, Ana, and Akanesi. We asked several questions in order to try keep our brains going. Instead of asking questions we already know the answer to... we wanted to put a challenge on ourselves and get us thinking more. We tried to identify the things we struggle with the most in maths. For example, which multiplication we struggle with the most, or which area in maths they struggle with. By asking them questions with the things they aren't so familiar with will help for them to recognise these 'struggles', and become more familiar with them.

What do I want to work on next time?

Well it's simple, i want to be able to work with the things i struggle with the most in maths. y doing this will help for me to answer and solve questions I wasn't so fast in solving. It will also help for me to help my peers out in their struggling areas with maths.

💭 Career - Definition 💭

IALT: define the work 'career' in my own words.

So before going straight to my own words, and understanding I needed inspiration. I thought about this.. then I researched what 'googles' definition of career was. I was able to copy and past this definition onto a DLO, then transforming 'googles' words into my own I was able to create and understand how I would define the word 'career'.

This was given as a part of several tasks related to the 'careers' program taken by Miss Aireen for the Kia Manuwanui Year 7/8 Syndicate.

 

With my next steps is defining what I would like for my career to be in the future. For example as I grow older and develop interest in different things.

📢 Tamaki Primary's LOCKDOWN!! 📢

IALT: reflect on the negative and positives affects we had at school while going through our LOCK DOWN practice.

So today in the last block we had an very IMPORTANT assembly. This assembly to me was mainly about how we can keep ourselves safe when things are going wrong outside and inside of the classroom/school. 

As you know when there is a fire inside the school, the FIRE ALARM goes off immediately and we are asked to safely evacuate the building.. gathering onto the school field located left side going down to the end of our school gates.

This practice went AWESOMELY for some classes, but now how did I behave during this practice? Stay tuned to find out...

 

My honest thoughts on this practice, I found it difficult to take this SERIOUSLY because of the people surrounding me while being on the ground. Though I am not completely blaming this on THEM, I take full responsibility of my own actions. Which was LAUGHING, JOKING AROUND, and be very immature and setting a very negative example for those around me.

In blogging about my behavior in this blog post, most bloggers would deny that this would happen if his was THEM. But in my perspective a HONEST blogger, and a TRUE blogger. My blog viewers, and readers need to understand the type of person I am. I think it is important for your blog viewers and readers to understand the type of person you are.. because then as they read more they will be able to understand your perspective on your learning, school life, and outside of school life.

Now I feel guilty, because of idiotic behavior the school BAND is no longer valid until further notice. This was done by Miss Aireen. Because of my idiotic and selfish behavior during this practice I negatively influenced my peers which makes me wonder......

Do I still have the leader potential in me?

Is it time to give up my leadership roll in order to be lead by others?

💙 My Qualities - Careers 💙

IALT: explain 2 different qualities I have.

As you know Miss Aireen does a program with the year 7/8 of Tamaki Primary every Friday. This program is designed to get us thinking about our futures, and careers as humans, and as the future generation to this earth.

In completing this task I have created a DLO explaining 2 different qualities I have as a human being. I thought about this deeply, and I was stuck for a bit. Then I turned to my peers Frances. I asked her what types of qualities she thinks I have. Then she named a lot, some of the qualities I thought I never had or never seen in myself. But then as I wrote about it, I tried to relate this into different area's of my life. For example my learning, education, my family and friends.

One thing I found interesting about this task was being able to write my about in a positive way. I'm not use to these types of 'tasks', for example usually its about writing about character in a book, or comparing 2 different things, but with this 'career' program for the year 7/8 of Tamaki Primary it's about YOURSELF. Which is something I admire about this program. It helps for me to think about myself, my future, and the next steps I am planing for my future or my long run.

Overall, after completing this task I have realised a lot. I have a lot of qualities as a human being, but as a goal to set for myself I would like to earn more, as days, hours, minutes, and seconds pass by. I truly believe in gaining more loving qualities will help 'shape' the person I am becoming, and I have become.. awaiting to gain more experince and awaiting to develop more about myself as I explore my future.

Technology Reflection - Graphics

IALT: identify an specific amount of clocks, and show my identity through images.

So, today was my first time in Graphics class. Today our task was to create a DLO with images describing who you are, for example if you are a person who loves RUGBY, you would show your love for rugby by inserting a rugby ball.

With this task, I found it really exciting. I was able to search for images (transparent), and in searching and inserting these images I was also able to identify things I didn't recognise were important to me.

Try creating a DLO of images that represent you! If you want, you can use my DLO (Digital Learning Object), to guide or be your example.

The one thing I found exciting about this task was creating something about ME, and also learning something new about MYSELF.

With clocks, have you ever thought about how there are so many different clocks in this world?, So have I! After researching different types of clocks I was able to find different types of clocks.

One thing I  want to work on next time I'm here is to.. start thinking ahead of this project. The reason for this is, is because when it comes to the time of planning I've already thought about it.
