❔What am I grateful for? - Free Writing❔

IALT: deeply reflect on my 3 choices of what I am grateful for!

Today in free writing, usually we would only have 30 minutes (half an hour) of writing, but due to Kiwisport we've been given 1 hour of free writing. Miss Komor, gave us 1 topic which was to write about What we are grateful for. To successfully complete this task in writing about this we had to use the S.E.E structure which as an reminder stand for...
  • S - Statement
  • E - Explanation
  • E - Example
We had to choose 3 different topics! With myself, I choose to write about how I am grateful for Jesus crucifying himself, the family I currently have, and the shelter or home I am living in. But it wasn't easy thinking about what I am grateful for, so I began to think about my past! For example I thought church and the relations somethings have to church! Which is how I came up with Jesus! With my family I thought about what I did at home with my family, and therefore it was a 2 in 1 idea.

Here is my free writing on what I am grateful for!

The difficulties I found in completing this task was keeping the statement, explanation, and example separate from each other. At times I got carried away and in getting carried away I tend to write more and I tend to combine then into one! But after deeply thinking and reading through and in between the lines I have written, I was able to find where I went off task, and I was able to fix the mistakes I had made.

The most enjoyable part of this task was how I was able to quickly find an example. And surprisingly the examples that I had came up were real life events!

If I were to set a goal for next time, it would have to be practicing in completing the S.E.E structure using different topics, so I can get more familiar with the structure, and for me to use it correctly in my future work that relates to the S.E.E structure.

Have you ever used the S.E.E  structure? What was your main difficulties?  Why?

Many Thanks.... 😁

πŸ›₯️Peter Blake 16 Wait Comes To Reality πŸ›₯️

IALT: extend my knowledge on the New Zealand boats.

After the 16 year wait for the Sir Peter Blake’s boat arrival it has finally returned home, Aotearoa New Zealand. Sir Peter Blake's boat Seamaster is known to be the Tara which will be provided for you in the photo below. Sir Peter was shot and killed on the Seamaster by the pirates on the Amazon River in late 2001! Sir Peter has died at the age of 53. As this violence was currently happening a lot was at risk from regions to people's lives. Now that it's name is Tara it was able to make it's way to the Auckland Viaduct over the weekend! Sir Peter was also knighted in the year of 1995, he was one of this country's most celebrated yachtsmen. As well as winning the Whitbread Round the World Race and Jules Verne Trophy taking victory home, he was also a part of the team who won the America’s Cup with ‘Black Magic’ in 1995 and was also able to successfully defend it during the next series. They say that his lucky red socks which were given to him by his wife, known as Lady Pippa, and was worn during the 1995 campaign have become a symbol of support for New Zealand team.
With this my next steps in learning is to develop more in the New Zealand Yacht, or Boat history. Not only will it inform about the country I am currently living in, but also give me the ability to access knowledge and history of other cultures, and countries maybe even my own.
If I were to explain my most difficulty in this task, overall it would have to be reading about this boat. I have had no experince in reading anything like this in my educational and personal past.
But an highlight would have to be finding new information out, and gaining my knowledge on New Zealand's history with their very own famous boats and historical yacht's.

πŸ“† Are You An Active Facebook User? πŸ“†

IALT: reflect on the article I read based on the Facebook users.

Did you know that more than 2 billion people are now using Facebook due to the following release of new statistics. But what this means is that more than a quarter of the world’s population and nearly two thirds of New Zealanders, are now using Facebook every month. They say that The milestone comes to just 13 years after the network was founded by the amazing discoverer Mr Zuckerberg as he was studying at Harvard University. Authorities say that he famously dropped out of the university after launching the global social-networking website as Facebook. The famous internet website was announced that it had one billion monthly users active in October 2012 and forwards, meaning it has doubled the number of its users in just under five years. But now there are currently 2.9 million monthly active users in New Zealand who actively use Facebook monthly.

From reflecting on this article I've been able to realise that my next steps in learning around this topic is to find the negative and positive affect that this social media website has on those active monthly users. By doing more research will help for me to share the information I will have gained in future, informing people about the positive and negative affects that this internet browser can cause for you.
Another thing I have realised is that the most difficult part of this was finding that I was once apart of using this social media website monthly, and if I had to say I could have been using this website daily, for who knows how long! But after releasing the negative affects this website can have on me (the hard way), I found deactivating my account the most easiest decision.
Are you apart of the 2 billion people who are actively using Facebook monthly? Or in other words how much do you use Facebook? Monthly?, Daily?...

☀️Sunny Side Sunday☀️

IALT: deeply reflect on my Sunday.

Image result for sunday

So today in my world it started off with a bit of sunshine, but still cold wind heading in my direction! It was church time but the only thing was we had a new priest and a new family living in the house the church provides for them. With the previous gone not only did he leave behind unforgettable memories, but a bunch of our closest friends. It was hard to say goodbye but life does go on, and so does this reflection so..

It was 9.45AM and we were off. We were 10 minutes early for Sunday school, but after all is was worth it. This whole service went on for up to just an hour. As it was the first Sunday traditionally with my church women, mens, and all sorts of children would stand as others would sing and explain what they want! It starts of with the priest's wife, and another bunch of women, leading of to the younger kids and so on! Then it went to the feast!

When we walked in and it was time for the seating. It was so short and but the food was still so yum! As I sat we prayed and as we prayed I could just feel all the eyes of the people sitting next to me targetting the food they had wanted to grab. It was things from Chocolates, to the traditional Tongan food. It was great turn out, and it was also a great feast which filled me up to the very end.

My next steps art to find more images, that relate to the topic. In order to give my readers and viewers the opportunity to paint a much clearer image in their minds.

The most difficult part in my day was explaining to God what I want from him, or what I want in life. But as I usually say what I have to say and ask of God, depending on what it is, it stays between God and myself.

What are your thoughts on this?

πŸ‰Palmerston North Owns The Scrum Record! πŸ‰

IALT: extend my knowledge on topics or articles related to Rugby!

Today I've read an article about how the Palmerston North school broke the record for strumming on the field. The previous record before Palmerston North was by the Japanese town of Fukuroi in 1565. However, contenders from Ireland have beaten that total and though their effort has not yet been recognised by Guinness they may have a shining chance in the future. Which means that meant Palmerston North’s shocking effort had put them into the top 1739 people in order to take out top spot. And in the end, 1758 people packed down, facing one another in two rows of two lines apiece, and engaged for  around about five seconds – smashing the existing record, and likely similar to what the Irish attempted. The participation affected children from local schools therefore causing for them to join as soldiers, with teachers, and locals! Even 30 or so Lions fans who made the trip up especially to take part.

After reading about this article related to Rugby (Sport) that I don't have a lot for knowledge about in my view my next steps in learning from this to even read, and research things about you dislike! I've been able to develop an like of Rugby as I have researched things about it, and as I have I have discovered common interests and things I have with the sport.

My main challenge with this was understanding the so called Rugby Language. I had such small knowledge on the scrum but after properly understanding this I have gained more combined, knowledge on Rugby and the scrum.
