πŸ“Blog Commenting - Point England πŸ“

Image result for blog commenting

IALT: blog about blog commenting on my peers from Point England's blogs.

Today I was just wondering through my quad blogging buddy "Ana from Point England's blog. Ana is a year 6 and I decided to comment on one of her posts about "Who am I?". So basically in this presentation she would put up and bunch of character/people with the heading "Who am I", then on the next slide there would be the answers of the who the person or character is,

Here is a few screenshots from her presentation "Who am I?"...

I thought of some feedback Ana could use for her next blogpost, but not only did I think of things she needs to work on but also things she improved on! For example as you read my comment I posted or put up on her blog post you will find I didn't only point out the things she needs to work on but things she needs to be called out for doing things that she hooked in her audience.. and espically hooked in me!

Here is a screenshot of my blog comment on Ana's blog post..

What do you think about my comment, and Ana's blog post! Well please feel free to "blog comment" on my blog and if you would like to leave comments under Ana's blog please click HERE!

But in other words thanks for viewing my blog post and feel free to leave feedback and feedforward on my work in the past and the upcoming blog posts yet to be shown.

🍭That Sugar Film - Part.2 🍭

Image result for sugar

IALT: reflect and blog about completing the follow up task for the documentary "That Sugar Film".

After watching part 2 of the documentary "That Sugar Film" we were given tasks based on the part 2 we were given follow up questions. If you read further down you will be able to see I have completed and blogged about the Sugar Film part 1 and 3. I have worked through this task with my 2 peers Ana, and Akanesi. We've tried our best answering all these questions to a high and standard quality. There were all sorts of questions in this task for example...
  • What things he discovered in the food located in USA
  • If their would be any changes to his Whare Tapa Wha while being in the US
  • Questions related and based on Oral Health
And also many more questions you find in the presentation that will be presented or shown below this text. Before completing this task Ana, Akanesi and myself had to really think about answering the questions with new and old knowledge and extending on new and old idea's coming up with new ideas.

Something I found challenging was deep thinking, and also using old and new idea's to make new idea's. But I was then able to use my thinking skills with my 2 peers to work through this.

Something else I enjoyed while completing this task was realizing how much sugar is in some of the foods, and drinks in the food located or provided in USA. Especially foods where some people think and say that it is healthy.

What are your thoughts on this? & Name some foods or drinks you think that is healthy?

Please leave a comment below.. with your thoughts on how you think I could improve more in this area of my learning... :)

πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡ΈSamoan Language Week πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡Έ

WALT: reflect completing a task based on Samoan Language Week.

I just finished completing a task based on Samoan Language Week, because this week is Samoan Language Week!!! There was all sorts of questions like for example, your favouirte samoan person, the distance between New Zealand & Samoa, The capital of Samoa & New Zealand, and many more questions that has helped me extend my knowledge on the Samoan Culture. I was not only able to learn about the capital cities, or the biggest villages of Samoa, but I was able to dig deep into the opening greeting (Hello), and also how to say Goodbye, which could be a goal I could work towards in the future by practising new words in a different unfamiliar culture I don't often use at home.

Something I enjoyed about this task was that I was able to adapt into another unfamiliar culture, and which was something I enjoyed mainly because it was deeper than just research it was getting to know the culture on it's own!

Next time though I would like to work on asking more questions in both the English and Samoan language, and also learning phrases I could use in class for the next week since it's Samoan Language Week, and I could maybe even use them at home getting my family to not only speak English, & Tongan but also Samoan adding another interesting language to the family.

What do you think about this? & Do you know anything about the Samoan culture!

Well, click the emoji of the Samoan Flag to access a website full of facts about Samoa - πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡Έ

✈️Banding Laptops on Airplanes? - USA ✈️

Image result for laptops on planes

IALT: reflect about an article which states how in USA they are thinking about banding all laptops on airplanes.

Apparently the US is considering banning laptops from aircraft cabins on all flights in and out of the country. Crazy right? This move is part of an increase in airport and plane security. According to the article in March  this year , the US government introduced restrictions on large electronic devices in aircraft cabins on flights from 10 airports, including the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and Turkey. Airlines are concerned that banding laptops may erode customer demand. But luckily in New Zealand people are able to travel with laptops without it being banned and taken off them. So now the US Government is really considering to ban laptops from being on any sort of Aircraft cabins, and have a huge chance/risk of losing a lot of customers?
What would you do? & Would you ban laptops even though there was a huge chance, and risk you would loose a lot of customers?!

🍬 That Sugar Film - Part.1 🍬

IALT: reflect on completing the first follow up task from part 1 of the documentary "That sugar film".

After watching the first part of the film it was easy for me to get the first couple of idea's and answers to the questions down. It was also easy for me answer some of the questions because I was able to imagine that I was in Damon's position. By this I mean that I was able to think as if I was in his shoes, I just couldn't stand thinking that I could eat 40 teaspoons of sugar for the next 2 months, or in other words 60 days.

Something I found challenging was researching about the 4 different sugars, and also the definitions of some words I've never seem before.

One thing I enjoyed about this task was getting to imagine I could do the challenge to see how it would impact my body... well it was fun imagining it but just imagining it made me think about the negative affects on my body it could or would have!

πŸ’»Video Storyboard - Cybersmarts πŸ’»

IALT: reflect and talk about the task we did during our Cybersmart lesson with Miss Shearing.

Image result for blogger logo

On Tuesday morning, Miss Shearing came in and talked about cybersmarts. We talked about   things like, blog posts, what makes them quality, why makes them attractive but one thing I am really looking forward to working on/completing is the task she gave us to make a type of movie, song, rap anything about "What makes a good quality blogpost". So I've formed a group of 4 people including myself they are...

  • Losana (Me)
  • Akanesi
  • Ana
  • Leilani
We've planned out that we will be making a movie based on not only our 4 perspectives or views on what makes a good quality blog post but also some of the viewpoints of the year 8 students @ TPS. We've started out writing our script but were still in the drafting zone. All that we have for sure is that it is going to be set. filmed or record as if it was the news. We've came up with the name "School News". So we're just 4 people who formed a news group show casing to others 1 topic but heaps of different others perspective. So for example the subject or the topic could be "If chicken is tasty or not & Why?" Well we would go around Tamaki Primary, asking them for their opinions then streaming it live or showing it to another, where they can then develop new knowledge about why people might find it tasty or not and also why? Not only that but were hear to help people understand the understandings of others, or the reasons of others disagreements.

What do you think about what we've planned and what were working with so far?

Please leave a comment below, with your thoughts of what a good quality blog post looks like and maybe we'll use it as a screenshot of evidence and also a image to showcase in our movie!

πŸ’“World's Longest HugπŸ’“

Image result for hugs

IALT: reflect on an article mainly about the World's Longest Hug.

After reading an article I've been able to develop new knowledge about how a new record for the World's Longest Hug had been set. This was set in the location of Thailand. 26 Couples participated in this event and was able to last 26 Hours, 26 Minutes, and also 26 Minutes. The aim of this was to stay wrapped to your partner for as long as possible. It also states in the article that every 1 hour they would be given 5 minutes to rest for safety and health related reasons of course.

I believe this was an amazing challenge and for me I find that this is an impossible challenge or record to be beaten unless you want a challenge! Going for 1 Day (24hours), 2 hours, and 26 minutes with a total of 130 minutes of break/rest for 5 minutes per hour... Was unbelieveable.

Personally I wouldn't attempt this challenge because in my mind I find that my longest hug was 5-10 minutes! And it wasn't even near reaching 1 hour so therefore maybe this could be a extreme challenge for me that I could work on in the future.

In this task I found reflecting about this task hard.. Mostly because usually I'm use to writing about going through something physically, for example what I did on the weekend, or a job I've done but I'm getting into the habit of reflecting on articles.. and I;m still open and alert for any feedback.

What do you think about this article? & Would you think you could complete the impossible by trying to break this challenge?

Please leave a comment below with feedback, feedforward and any necessary suggestions on how you think I coulf improve more in and around the areas of my learning.
